Prelims Syllabus-
There are two papers in Prelims – 1- General Studies Paper I
2- CSAT / General Studies Paper II
General Studies Paper I syllabus-
- Current events of national and international importance.
- History of India and Indian National Movement.
- Indian and World Geography- Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
- Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development – Sustainable development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiative , etc.
- General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Biodiversity and climate change- (that do not require subject specialization)
- General Science.
CSAT / General Studies Paper II syallbus-
- Comprehension.
- Interpersonal skills including communication skills.
- Logical reasoning and analytical ability.
- Decision – making and Problem solving.
- General mental ability
- Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc) Class 10th level.
- Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc) Class 10th level.
Mains Syllabus-
So friends, there are 9 papers in Mains examination but only 7 papers are counted for marks. Rest 2 papers are qualifying type of paper. Friends, let us discuss about the UPSC CSE Mains examination syllabus-
Paper A- Compulsory Indian Language.
Paper B – English
- Paper-I – Essay.
- Paper II – General Studies I- Indian Heritage & Culture, History & Geography of the World & Society.
