Although cricket started in England , it soon became a popular game which is played in many countries. This game was discovered by children living in the Weald and before the arrival of 17th century, this game was played by only children, which means that before that (means before 17th century), adults had no involvement in this game. So, firstly the cricket appeared to just a children’s game but it became a famous and popular game for every age of people and for every country’s after the involvement of elders in 17th centuries.

The world’s first cricket club was formed in Hambledon in UK (United Kingdom). The first rules of cricket were written in 1744 and then just a year later, women also started taking parts in cricket, that is , from 1745 women also started participating in this game.

Gradually this game became the most popular sport in India and gained a lot popularity among peoples. Due to it’s increasing popularity of this game, the first cricket club was established in Calcutta in 1792. The first class match was played in Chennai in 1864. As it’s popularity increased, this game established itself as a developed game of the country. BCCI (which stands for Board of Control for Cricket in India) was established in December 1928.

India played it’s first Test – match in June 1932 and played against the Britisher’s. Today, cricket has become the most popular game in the country and abroad. Everyone (from children’s to elder’s) knows how to play this game. This game is the most popular game and gained more popularity as compare to other games.
